1. IP – ADDRESSING IS DIVIDED INTO 2 TYPES : -

1. NET ID : IN ONE NETWORK NET ID MUST BE SAME.

2. HOST ID : EVERY COMPUTER HAVE UNIQUE HOST ID.

2. IP – ADDRESS IS DIVIDED INTO 5 CLASSES : -

• CLASS – A : PUBLIC IP – ADDRESS.

• CLASS – B : PUBLIC IP – ADDRESS.

• CLASS – C : PUBLIC IP – ADDRESS.

• CLASS – D : MULTI – CASTING IP – ADDRESS.

• CLASS – E : RESERVED FOR RESEARCH.
